As I was winding down after another day at work, the Lord brought to mind how I fit (or am supposed to fit) into His perfect plan. This is the outworking of that thought process.
Who am I?
I am fallen. I am a sinner deserving of hell. I am dust and
of no value — on my own. I am burdened. I am weary. I
am headed to destruction — if it were not for Him. I am a
failure. All my righteous works are as filthy rags (Isa. 64:6).
I am not my own. I am His.
Who is He?
He is everything. He is perfect. He is sinless and infinitely
holy. He is Jesus Christ. He is God Almighty. He is Lord of
all — and every knee WILL bow (Philippians 2:10-11). He is
Savior — of those who surrender and believe. He is redeemer.
He bears the sin of the world — and me. He is my strength.
He is taking me to heaven. He is true success. His righteous-
ness covers me. He is true riches. He is mine. I am His.
Who do I want to be?
I want to be savory salt (Matt. 5:13). I want to be a brilliant
light (Matt. 5:14). I want to be bold and courageous (Joshua
1:9). I want to be different. I want to be holy. I want to be
white in a world of black. I want to be purity in a sea of sin.
I want to be wholly His. I want to be content in Him. I want
to be a torch like the martyrs before me. I want to be like Christ.
For to me, to live is Christ, to die is gain.
