- Can love persuade our hearts to remain steadfast for the hope of one day?
- Is love strong enough to make you steadfast for the years in between?
- When hope is finally fulfilled and the sun never sets on the day, will history tell of your loyal love?
Is love worth one day in ten years?
Can love persuade our hearts to remain steadfast for the hope of one day? What can one day expect to hold? Given twenty-four hours, which words would you choose to impart to your lover for the next three thousand days? Would you run together as if to escape the inevitability of day’s end? Would you walk slowly, gazing at every footfall to capture a million portraits with the one you love? Or would you lie down and surrender to sleep in order to remember the safety of your beloved’s arms? With your voice, would you recite the events leading to this day, or would you simply fill the air with myriads of “I love you”, in every form conceivable? Looking at your cherished one, would you see what the years have etched? Or would your first, hallowed picture replace physical sight? In the back of your mind, would you be thinking about the next ten years or would you be content with that day?
If graced by longevity, is love worth eight days in a lifetime?
Is love strong enough to make you steadfast for the years in between? When you felt alone, would your memories suffice for the one who holds your heart? Would you allow doubt to creep in during dark times? Would you tolerate and succumb to the words of friends who told you to forsake your first love? Or would you recall with passion the fervor of your love and declare with voice ringing, “I will not falter! No words can alter my course! I am my beloved’s! And our hearts are forever bound, be it a day or a lifetime til next we meet!”
Is love worth life’s questions?
For the band on your finger, what would you answer when once they asked? To gossip and cynicism, would your dedication remain firm? When your children inquired, would the persevering fire of your love convince them against all who argue otherwise? Would the sparks in your eyes and the description of each day’s million portraits cause them to fall in love with your once-in-ten beloved? Would you proclaim true love’s story unashamedly at every opportunity?
Can love overcome death?
When twilight comes, will the years of waiting between momentary glimpses give you the faith to see the union past the grave? When hope is finally fulfilled and the sun never sets on the day, will history tell of your loyal love? Will you arrive on the other side of the horizon with your love intact? When you scan through the years, will the days have overcome the years or the years the days? When He approaches you at the beginning of eternity and asks, “Did you love Me in life unto death?” Will you be able to reply, “Every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year, yea, every breath!”?
